Dear friends of folklore,

we have a pleasure to invite you to take part in the NESTIYA ART  FESTIVAL “GOLDEN AUTUMN IN SOFIA – SREDEC 2017”.

Nestiya art International festival „Golden autumn in Sofia“ is part of a national campaign „Torches and preserve Bulgarian … Fire!“ – Program „Nestiya festivals – Bulgaria“ of Bulgarian art and folklore center Nestiya. The festival will be held in city of Sofia from 21 of October  till  22 of October  2017 year.

The groups are suppozed to arrive in Sofia on 20.10.2017 till 14.00 o’ clock. On 21, 22 of October  there are performances in Sofia. The departure of the groups will be on 23 of October after breakfast.

In this folklore event can take part folklore ensembles and groups; dancing and vocal groups; soloists and instrumentalists from all over the world. This international event is looking to promote and share the folklore and traditions of different nations to strengthen the friendship and the identity of each country.

Purposes of our folklore events are:

– To promote Bulgarian art for children, youth and adults;

– To stimulate interest and love of generations to Bulgarian art;

– To encourage the search, development and realization of the talents of all ages.

 

The organizers are: Bulgarian Art and Folklore Centre “Nestia”- Sofia, Balkan alliance of folklore, Foundation “Nestia”, Association “Evterpani”, Association “Fontan”, Touristic company “Delta EK”, Producer’s house “Kukeri”, and with the support of Ministry of Science and Education, Ministry of Culture, Municipality of Sofia.

– Manual coordination and control is performed by BAF „Nestiya“.

 

The festival will be performed in two directions:

  1. Entertainment program:

-Groups will have 2 or 3 performances at the festival. Each group has to prepare 10-20 min. of quality program. Performances are on the open air stages, wooden and concrete.

-It is not necessary to have live music. It is allowed to perform using CD or flash drive, but it has to be of a good quality recording.

– All participants will receive a certificate for participation.

– During the concerts the groups will participate in three competitions “Kryshna rachenica”, “Review of costume” and “Miss and Mister festival”

  1. Competition program:

PARTICIPANTS ARE DIVIDED INTO THE FOLLOWING AGE GROUPS:

– Up to 7 years.

– Until ’12

– Until ’18

– Until ’25

– Over ’25

 

NOMINATIONS IN ARTS:

 

  1. Dance (classic, jazz, Modern ballet, ballroom dances, sports dances, modern dances, pop dances, free style, etc.).

Evaluation criteria: overall evaluation, dance technique, stage and artistic behavior and choreography, the repertoire should correspond to the age of the performers, costumes, props, selection, matching and synchronization of music and choreographic material, artistry, disclosure of the image, theme, plot.

The performance should be up to 7 minutes.

 

  1. Folklore Arts (should be based on folklore authentic, processed, prepared, stylized musical, vocal, dance, theater, including national, regional and local rituals, customs and rituals).

Evaluation criteria: quality of material used for Folklore (artistic value and authenticity, ethnographic precision in the style and manner of performance, quality performances of music, song, dance, regional and local traditions, entertainment, originality.

Participants in the nomination „Folk Arts (group composed ensembles, choirs and individual performers) are presented with The performance should be up to 10 minutes.

 

  1. VOCAL ARTS (classical, academic, religious, jazz, pop and rock songs).

Evaluation criteria: musicality, artistic interpretation of the music, the purity of intonation and sound quality, beauty and strength of tone of voice, vocal culture. The repertory should match to the skills in the different age groups.

The performance should be up to 7 minutes.

 

  1. MUSICAL ARTS (classical, academic, religious, jazz, pop and rock songs).

Evaluation criteria: musicality, artistic interpretation of the music, the purity of music and sound quality, beauty and power of tone on the instrument culture. The repertory should match to the skills in the different age groups

Participants in the nomination „Musical Arts“ (orchestras and individual performers) represent two different works of no The performance should be up to 8 minutes.

 

  1. THEATRE AND SHOW arts (theater, musical theater and musicals, pantomime, word art, fashion theater, circus, clown, demonstrations arts and gymnastics, acrobatics, etc.)

 

Evaluation criteria: performance art, technical and compositional structure, stage and theatrical decorations (costumes, props, performance and culture of dressing, supplements and accessories), artistry, detection and brightness of the image and original theme consistency in style (dress, hairstyle, choreography, music), artistic performance, level, artistic painting, acting, diction and pronouncing.

Ensembles, duets, trios and soloists perform  2-5 minutes.

Participants in fashion theater (groups and individual artists) perform no more than 10 minutes.

Theater and musicals (theater groups and individual performers) perform from 10 to 20 minutes.

 

Performances of participants are assessed on a scale. The winners will participate in the ceremony of the GALA CONERT and will perform the awarded performances at the gala concert. The program of the gala concert will be determined from the director of the festival-competition and on the basis of the decisions of the jury.

 

ACCREDITATION IN THE FESTIVAL-COMPETITION.

To participate in the competition of the festival, you should send the following documents:

– Application form

– Two color photographs of a good quality and in electronic format .jpg;

– Repertoire for the selected category (specify in the application form);

– List of participants and accompanying persons;

– Representatives of other countries should have national flag of his country;

– All participants of the festival to be health insured;

– Children under the age of 18 traveling without parents must have notarized permission to leave the country.

– The period of the passport must be valid at least 6 months after the end of the trip;

 

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE FESTIVAL:

 

  1. The organization committee will accommodate the groups in city of Sofia (sleeping, 3 meals a day, medical service, if needed). Groups should inform if there is any special diet or food requirements (vegetarians). The members of the groups should have medical insurance.
  2. The travel costs to and from Sofia should be covered by the participants.

The organization Committee will grant a fuel to each group, which comes with its own bus /fuel will be given for the distance from Sofia to the performances’ places or cities/.

For the groups which come by plane, the bus will be reserved and covered by the Festival’s Committee. Bus will be available to participants during the days of concerts, and transports them to and from the concert venues. In case the group wants to go to the excursions out of Festival’s city, should pay 90 euro for bus transportation per day.

The groups which come by plane, should pay for the transportation service from Sofia airport  to the festival’s city –1 euro per km

  1. The groups have to send application form for participation, pictures and other advertising materials by mail. All applications should be received not later than 40 days before the festival starts by  e-mail.
  2. Each group should pay:
Hostel 22 Euro per person per day
Hotel ** 28 Euro per person per day
Hotel *** Lux 35 Euro per person per day

 

* For each 20 persons, one is free.

* 30% of the participation fee has to be prepaid not later than 30 days before the event starts.

* The other 70% should be paid when the group arrives.

* Payment after the above mentioned date will not be accepted.

* Exceptions from the above mentioned conditions are possible only after a decision of the Festival’s Organization Committee.

  1. Each group should bring a country’s flag.
  2. All groups can sell souvenirs and/or СDs.
  3. If group needs visa, it is responsibility of the group to arrange it! Organizers can only give invitation letter to groups and can’t interfere to visa issuing process and make extra contacts to embassies.

 

EXTRA DAYS:

  1. Each group can stay extra days in Sofia or come before the date, fixed by organization Committee as “date of arriving”
  2. The organization committee will accommodate the groups in city of Sofia (sleeping, 3 meals a day, medical service, if needed). Groups should inform if there is any special diet or food requirements (vegetarians). The members of the groups should have medical insurance.
  3. During the extra days, the groups which come by plane, should pay 90 euro per day for bus transportation /if they need a bus/.
  4. Each group should pay for accommodation:
